Not honest people. The Candomble tour was not a tour. We were dropped off at the temple and provided with very minimal information. I would say we were provided with the first few sentences of the Wikipedia article on Candomble.Once at the temple, the tour guide remained outide the temple for most of the ceremony. While outside he was texting and told us to go outside and talk to him, if we had questions. The guide admitted that he was not accepted by the Candomble temple. He also claimed that we could not talk during the ceremony. This was, obviously, not true since members of the congregation were happy to talk to us about the ceremony and there were many other tourists sitting beside us with guides. Unfortunately, we didn´t speak Portuguese so we had to rely on a few english speakers for information.Towards the end of the ceremony, the tour guide came in and pointed out a few things about the ceremony and the Candomble religion. Surprisingly, he forgot that he said we could not talk during the ceremony but he had no problem doing so. For the price that we paid (50 reals/each), it was below expecations and unacceptable. The tour was basically an expensive taxi ride. There was no educational value.
