We had a wonderful day with Rato (pronounced as “Hahto” for us Americans!!) and can highly recommend him as your tour guide. He speaks English very well and showed us all the sights and highlights of Rio for eight hours in a new, luxury Citroen van . While he also specializes in hang gliding and paragliding tours, we did not do that, but he took us to the top of the mountain where they take off - very cool and worth it, plus you’ll see stuff that the other tour companies just don’t get to. Thanks Rato for an unforgettable day!

I went to paragliding through an agency and Raphael was giving me a ride there. After the jump he dropped me off to my family and later on we used his services to check out more of Rio de Janeiro. He explained a lot about Rio and answered to all our questions. We were never stuck in any traffic, since he knew his ways around the city and the prices were also great. I definitely can recommend his services for everyone.

I mean that in every way possible when it comes to Raphael and his services. If you are looking for one on one attention during your stay, look no further as my friend and I felt completely safe, informed and entertained from the moment I made contact with him.He was timely and clear with his responses prior to arrival (loved that he was fluent in English too), which made the booking process extremely easy.My annual birthday trip is always mixed with a little bit of work and our first connection was hiring him do a transfer (private ride to destination) to a meeting I had downtown and back to hotel. I don't speak any Portuguese and instead of just waiting outside like most drivers, he opted to come in and help me translate which made the meeting a super productive one! Was so thankful as the English speaking person I originally was supposed to meet with, was not there. Raphael saved the day!Next we met for hang gliding activity where as always, he was on time and shared his GPS location on his way to us, so we knew how far he was. I am deathly afraid of heights but was ready to try and conquer them. Raphael could not have placed me with a better instructor for the flight as he was also English speaking and was super patient. Between the both of them...I made it through the hang gliding experience!We then went on the Telegrafo Rock hike, which is about a 40 minute climb up to top. I think this us where I appreciated him the most. Not because he offered to take some phenomenal, great angled pics of us but the care and attention he gave to my friend, who in the beginning...the hike was proving to be more difficult than she thought. He helped to coach and motivate her THE ENTIRE WAY and I just loved that.Same with our Stand up Paddle Tour after the day's weather was a bit windy for it at the area we originally were supposed to do it at, he worked to find an area where the winds weren't so bad then got on a board and tested the conditions himself before we went out.He certainly is a cut above the rest and you won't go wrong when you book with him and his team. I am thankful we did, as he made this trip another one for the books.Private Shuttle in Rio is simply the best!

I went on the Tijuca Forrest and Hang gliding tours with Raphael. Raphael was very friendly and personable. He speaks English very well who he’d helped so much. He is from Rio and knew so much about his home. From the very moment he picked us up he started pointing things out and giving us facts and the history or Rio. We had many stops in the Tijuca Forest. He didn’t rush us on the stops either, which was very important to me! He even took pictures of my friends and I. He is a great photographer by the way. Ask to see his Instagram photos. His van was clean and new. I was nervous with the Hang gliding but he explained things and tried his best to calm my nerves. I’m so happy I went though because it was the experience of a lifetime! He even went above and beyond for me. I had a friend who visited Rio a month after I left and he helped me surprise her with a wonderful basket of fruit, chocolate, and wine! I really enjoyed my time with Raphael and will definitely book more tours with him. So happy I crossed paths with him.

We had business travel to rio and needed sevral transfers and day long minivan allocations. Raphael was most helpful. He replied to all our requests positively and solved every each problem with personal touch. Highly recommended

We did two tours with Raphael (Christ the Redeemer and Tijuca Forest, as well as Sugar Loaf), plus we hired him for a little extra time to see downtown, and he also drove us back to the airport when it was time to leave Rio. We very much enjoyed our tours and having Raphael point things out and show us the beautiful areas in Rio. He is always on time, doesn’t rush, knows his city, speaks very good English and is a funny guy! :-) We hope many more people will take the opportunity to tour with Raphael - you will have a great time!
