This school is amazing located in a peaceful place, the decoration makes you feel the nature, just by crossing one street get to the beach. It’s convenient place to live for as many days or months as you want, I have stayed here more then 2 months learning Portuguese and it’s lovely place. The staff is amazing and always helpful specially when you are foreigner, the manager of the school guided me how to take bus, had shown me the shops and the city. The teachers are kind and punctual. The food is amazing they provide full meal Brazilian lunch (you can ask them if you don’t like certain foods), Also you can anytime use their kitchen option to cook for yourself. It’s a safe, cozy, peaceful place with kind people.I highly recommend to stay and have your experience.

Our family of 4 (kids are 13 and 11) absolutely loved our 2 weeks at GoBrazil! The location is perfect - walking distance to great beaches and local restaurants, and only a 10-15 minute bus or Uber to get into Maceio for anything else. The house where you live and take classes was great. The bedrooms were comfortable, there were nice common areas to relax, read, and do your homework. And the whole place has a really nice tropical feel, with green gardens, trees, and a few resident pets. The classes were excellent. We had 3 different teachers during our stay and loved them all. They taught from the same curriculum so we kept on track, and the different styles kept things interesting and helped us focus. Our goal was to learn enough Portuguese so we could travel capably over the following month and we achieved our goal. Finally, the people who run GoBrazil were awesome. The teachers, the cooks who made delicious lunches for us, and especially Svetlana who makes the whole place run. They helped us not only learn the language, but more importantly helped us begin to understand Brazil and it’s people.

GoBrazil is a wonderful place to recharge energies, learn portuguese, get to know brazilian culture, sleep well, be surrounded by cute animals, experience wide and quiet sandy beaches and eat good and healthy food!Sveta, who runs the place, is absolutely caring and responsible, a warm and kind person, who is always ready to help! Her philosophy is also lived by the teachers with who you won´t pass boring standard portuguese classes, but who will challenge you and tailor their classes to your needs and already existing portuguese level. They are also ready to show you around the city and take you out for typical brazilian food if you want to have some more flexible classes. I really enjoyed afternoon classes at the beach with an Agua de Coco and the breeze of the ocean, for example :)Every teacher has their own way of teaching. While some focus more on grammar, there are others who are more into brazilian literature, poems and text production. You can talk to Sveta about the way of learning you prefer and she will for sure create you a very good schedule, tailored to your preferences.Next to classes and food, which will be ready every day at around 12.30, you will have time to do other activities, like surfing, caropeira, running at the beach, chilling and reading, ....It is an incredibly peaceful place and for sure there is something to do for everybody ;)Definitely will come back to this unique and wonderful place! <3Muito obrigada!!!

I have spent two amazing months at GoBrazil. The first month I had a, language course, with very nice and commited teachers (Muito obrigada), a well structured book, but also fun conversation lessons at the beach or cooking cuzcuz. Usually the groups contain of two students or are individual classes. The second month I spent doing an internship, arranged by Sveta, the coordinator of the school. She also took me to many capoeira classes, and makes probably the most tasty bread of Maceió. Obrigada por tudo Sveta! The food offered is healthy with lots of variety, the rooms are confortable and have even a private bathroom, there is also a nice garden with lots of fruits, and not forget to mention Ticita (cat) and Pretinha (dog). The beach which is just 5 minutes walking away from school, is in general very calm, but still there are a few bars and restaurants. Garca Torta feels like a very safe and welcoming neighbourhood and it only takes 20 minutes to go to the more central part of Maceió.I would absolutely recommend GoBrazil to everyone.

A great experience for learning and beach living. I spent a month here and found the teachers were all great and went out of their way to welcome the students - not only in class, but with invitations to enjoy the city too. The accommodation is modest, but nice, clean, and comfortable. The location is quiet and by the beach so it's a great place to escape, but it is also just a few KM from the city so a bus or Uber ride means you can enjoy the city activity too. Compared to many other residential schools this one offers more for less so I would highly recommend it for students who want to spend some time in Brazil learning Portuguese.

Go Brazil is more than just a school: It is also a home, a sancturary, a family, a cultural immersion, and an opportunity to grow, learn, explore, and look inside yourself... It is a small, welcoming, intimate, quiet school focused on learning, studying, exploring, and peacefulness, with opportunities to explore the local culture, beaches, and region, with friendly people and good food!Go Brazil is not like other language schools: Most importantly, it feels more like a family than a school. You will live, sleep, eat, AND study at the school. Go Brazil will BE your experience during your time there.I spent 2 weeks there and it was truly special.-- THE INSTRUCTORS are focused and experienced, meet you where you are in your learning journey, and try hard to help you facilitate cultural experiences outside of school. I advanced lots.-- THE ACCOMMODATION is very basic (do not expect luxury), but clean, spacious and comfortable, with everything you need and nothing you dont. It's also super quiet and secluded, so you are guaranteed a good night sleep. I never tried the hot water, since you dont need it: Maceio is hot enough!-- THE SCHOOL is beautiful, bursting with flowers and plants and water fountains. There are a handful of friendly animals, plus hammocks, several different sitting/relaxing/studying areas, some inside and some outside, plus a full kitchen, and an exercise/yoga room with basic exercise equipment.-- THE LOCATION is great: 3 minute walk from the beach, in a friendly local beach neighborhood, near to a mini market, a few decent restaurants, and plenty of awesome beach cafes, plus surprisingly great pizza :). The location is way outside of the city, but that is a good thing: It is quieter, safer, and closer to the beach. You can still easily go downtown with a $4 Uber at all times.-- THE CITY (Maceio) is an underappreciated city, way off the touristic path, and that's a good thing: You won't meet any other tourists, or anyone that speaks English (except your instructors, of course!). The city was surprisingly beautiful, and worth spending time in.-- THE COASTLINE is one endless sandy beautiful beach, with palm trees, warm water, and lots of beach cafes.-- THE FOOD: Breakfast and lunch are included. Breakfast is always homemade bread (delicious!) with jams and whatnot, some basic ceral and oats and things, and coffee and tea. Lunches are big, nourishing, and delicious.-- SAFETY: It seemed safe to me, as safe as anywhere in Brazil can be. You want to be sensible, as always, and not walk around at night in areas you dont know, but otherwise it felt welcoming.-- STAFF: Sveta, who runs the place, is simply a very good human being. What more can I say? She tries hard, cares a lot, is responsive, friendly, and inviting. She will help to make your stay great.-- SOCIAL ATMOSPHERE: This is a small, intimate, family-like school. There were only 1-2 other students there during my time, and this is typical. (You might be the only student there for some days, or with a few others.) Do not come here expecting to party and be super social. This is a place of quiet, peace, and study. If you get to spend quality time bonding with other travelers (as I did!), then you can consider it a bonus.-- OTHER: You can takesurfing lessons and Capoeira classes through the school. I took 2 weeks of Capoeira classes with Sveta and her Capoeira group, and it was a highlight of my time there. I recommend it only if you are serious about giving it time and effort. It is not worth taking one class only, just to try" it. But if you commit to a handful or classes (I did 2-3 a week)

I had the most amazing month at GoBrazil! Very cool place to unwind and learn Portuguese.De house is very green with a lot of nature around and the rooms are comfortable. Tasty and healthy food was provided, and the animals are too sweet (especially pretinha).Garça torta is a special place with lots of beautiful beaches around, and some nice bars at the beaches. Its especially good that no one speaks English, which helps a lot in practicing portuguese. The people in the village are friendly and helpful. The portuguese classes are interesting and the teachers are friendly. Besides classes, they will also try to show you around a bit and have fun times! Sveta is also a great host. She runs the school very well, bakes bread and sometimes cake, and will try to help you with things if needed. She also gave us a private capoeira class and took us to the capoeira roda on Sunday, which was a very special and cool experience.Besides the portuguese classes you can also surf. Mario is a very good surf teacher, with who you can also practice your portuguese (aula doubla!) You can also check out Maceio, which is a short ride away by uber.all in all I would definitely recommend this place and I hope to come back one day!
