We had a wonderfully informative tour of Rocinha with Jody, it was so interesting to hear all about the favela and its occupants who are really lovely people and so happy and friendly. Would definitely recommend this tour for anyone wanting a different experience of Rio De Janeiro.

Jody is a one-of-a-kind tour guide in a one-of-a-kind city within a city. If that isn't enough, Jody is running a free English school inside Rocinha favela which is benefitting loads of people who might not otherwise get to study English. Go check it all out. It's inspiring stuff!

The tour we had with Jody via Favela Phoenix was one of the highlights of our trip to Rio last Spring. A fantastic walking tour down through Rocinha favela which was informative, entertaining and life- changing. Thanks so much to Jody for being such a brilliant tour guide. Recommended for anyone visiting Rio de Janeiro.

Awesome tour, really informative and it was great to see the amazing colourful favela. Jody knew a lot about the place and he totally rocks. He made the tour funny and we met lots of the locals who were happy, friendly people. It added a lot to the tour the fact Jody lives in their. (Oh and the guy rating 1* is from the other tour place who over charge.)

I think it's so cool what Favela Phoenix is doing in Rocinha to help the residents learn English and other life skills that can help them better their lives. Also very cool how they offer tours to visitors to learn about the community and the work they do! If you can afford a few bucks,I urge others to donate to help them continue their work!
