The single best feature of Espaco Soleil is the kindness of its proprietors, Cedric and Carol Fouache. I, along with a group of friends and family, stayed with them for a total of six nights during the early stages of the World Cup, and they went to almost ridiculous lengths to make our stay easy and fun. With their helpful attitude and tireless work, Carol and Cedric could provide an enjoyable experience in the meanest of hotels. Fortunately, this is not necessary since they have done a marvelous job on their facility.The Pousada is a work in progress. A former school building, it currently features only ten of the 23 rooms it will ultimately have. Those rooms are bright, clean and comfortable. Mine featured a refrigerator, a wall-mounted TV and remote-controlled AC.Common areas are very pleasant, featuring a refrigerator, large flat screen TV, pool table and plenty of comfortable seating. There's also a reading room and a pretty garden featuring a small swimming pool. The spacious dining room is sheltered from the rain while still having some exposure to outside air. Eventually, there will be a rooftop gathering area featuring hot tub, grill, bar, shaded hammocks and sunbathing. Good WiFi is available throughout.Cedric, a professionally accomplished chef, makes a sumptuous breakfast every morning. In my case, it was generally sufficient to carry me through to dinner.If, in the interests of balance, I were to list things about which to complain, they would be the fact that the road in front of the pousada is unpaved (a situation that will hopefully be remedied in the near future) and that the immediate neighborhood is sort of charmless.These are very small blemishes on a very appealing picture. I recommend the Esapco Soleil without hesitation.
