It was a very good tour, went into an actual favela and got an explanation of the history of the favela and socio-historical issues regarding it. Encountered some sketchy characters, however, not once did I feel unsafe. The tour is very professional and extremely well done, would highly recommend it.

A wonderful experience, I recommend everyone to go. It's a walk trough the reality of a favela, with expert local staff who tells and explains what it means grow up and live there. Absolutely safe and very interesting, it's really worth.

I spent three months living and doing research on favela communities in Brazil for my PhD, and this was by far my most enriching experience. Rita and Beth were incredible guides and it was clear that so much thought was put into making it a meaningful, safe, and memorable experience. Even if you don't speak Portuguese, this tour is a far better choice than the traditional, touristy favela tour" and you will learn so much more from actual residents
